Just Ask: If You Don’t A-S-K You Will Not G-E-T

Just ask! You have to ask it’s plain and simple. Walk into a McDonald’s without asking for your order and you will starve. Asking is the key to success in all businesses. Ask, Ask, Ask! Why is it so hard to ask for your promotion, ask for the sale, ask for the date, ask for the discount, or ask for more business? Why are you afraid? Is it the fear of rejection? The fear of hearing no, looking foolish, or any other things in your head?

If you don’t A-S-K you will not G-E-T. Even the bible in Luke 11:9 and Matthew 7:7 says, “Ask and you shall receive.” Asking is the key to realizing your vision. You need people to help you move forward. How will they know how to serve you if they don’t know what you want? Again back to McDonald’s, if you don’t ask for a burger you will not get a burger.

When You Assume

Don’t assume that you will get a no. Take the risk of asking for what you exactly want. Think about it. If you are asking for something it’s because you don’t possess it. You do not have the thing that you desire and that is why you are asking. Now, if you don’t ask it really doesn’t matter because you don’t have it. If you ask and it’s a no it’s the same as not asking anyway. You still don’t have it and you are in the same position. You don’t lose because you don’t have what you want. But if it is a yes, you win. Pretty simple.

Asking shouldn’t be hard. You request things every day at fast food restaurants, and stores, on the phone, through text messages, and online. People request stuff from you. Fast food restaurants try to upsell on extra stuff all of the time. Do you want fries with that order? You say yes, they make more money, you say no, they still make money. You have spent a lifetime asking now to apply that same principle to your business.

5 Principles of Just Ask

1. Ask As If You Expect To Get It

Have a positive expectancy. Ask like it has already been given. Be like a kid asking Santa Claus for gifts. They believe it will be under the Christmas tree. Kids believe they will get what they ask for. If not they ask for something else. Ask as if you expect a yes.

2. Assume You Can
